Location: Omaha, Nebraska

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 12-hour shifts, 6:30 AM - 6:30 PM or 6:30 PM - 6:30 AM, every other weekend

Hours per Week: 48

Candidate Pay Rate: $66 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide expert nursing care to PCU patients on the 4th Floor East Wing, managing a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
Monitor and treat patients with conditions like CVA, TIA, shortness of breath, COVID, subdural hematoma, and weakness
Administer medications including PCA pumps for pain management, cardizem, and insulin
Collaborate with a supportive team including charge nurses, educators, care managers, and social workers
Conduct hourly rounding and ensure patient responsiveness for an excellent patient experience
Float to medical-surgical areas as needed to support staffing

Qualifications

Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state
Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
Minimum 1 year of PCU or telemetry experience preferred
Proficiency in EPIC and Alaris IV pumps
Valid driver's license (required for submittal and radius verification)
Ability to pass an open-book exam during orientation (90% passing grade)

Knowledge & Skills

Strong telemetry monitoring skills
Experience with common drips: PCA, cardizem, insulin
Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
Excellent communication and patient advocacy skills
Flexibility to float between units
