Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive eye exams to assess vision and eye health
• Diagnose and manage ocular diseases such as glaucoma and cataracts
• Prescribe corrective lenses and therapeutic treatments
• Provide pre- and post-operative care for surgical patients
• Educate patients on proper eye care and preventive measures
• Collaborate with healthcare team to ensure integrated patient care

Qualifications

• Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution
• Active optometry license in California or ability to obtain quickly
• Valid CPR certification or willingness to obtain
• Clinical experience in a hospital or outpatient setting preferred
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate patient approach

• Doctor of Optometry (OD)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in comprehensive eye examination techniques
• Knowledge of ocular pharmacology and disease management
• Familiarity with diagnostic equipment like slit lamps and retinal cameras
• Ability to interpret diagnostic tests and prescribe appropriate treatments
• Excellent interpersonal skills to connect with patients and staff
