Roles & Responsibilities

• Collect blood samples using venipuncture and skin puncture techniques while keeping patients comfortable
• Verify patient information and label specimens accurately to support safe, reliable testing
• Process specimens according to established guidelines and enter details into the lab information system
• Maintain clean, safe, and well-organized blood-drawing trays and work areas
• Follow infection-control and hazardous waste policies to protect patients and team members
• Assist medical technologists and pathologists with designated laboratory tests
• Keep laboratory equipment and records compliant with accreditation and quality control standards
• Dispose of contaminated needles and biohazard materials responsibly and per policy

Qualifications

• 2+ years of MLS experience required
• ASCP certification required
• BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross required
• Travel experience preferred
• Strong phlebotomy skills including venipuncture and skin puncture
• Comfortable working every other weekend
