Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate support to patients and families during their care journey
- Assist providers with exams, procedures, and treatments in an outpatient setting
- Perform clinical duties including taking vital signs, administering injections, and collecting lab specimens
- Manage patient intake, update electronic health records, and coordinate follow-up care
- Prepare exam rooms, sterilize equipment, and ensure supplies are fully stocked
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create a smooth, welcoming clinic experience
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification strongly preferred
- Current BLS certification (American Heart Association or equivalent)
- Minimum of one year of experience in a medical office or outpatient clinic
- Experience with electronic health records and computerized order entry
- Strong phlebotomy and medication administration skills
- Ability to commit to a 26-week travel assignment in Tehachapi, CA
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid understanding of medical terminology and clinical procedures
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Skilled in using medical equipment such as EKG machines, autoclaves, and vital sign monitors
- Comfortable with patient documentation, charting, and managing medical records
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to build rapport with patients and work collaboratively with healthcare providers
