Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate support to patients and families during their care journey
  • Assist providers with exams, procedures, and treatments in an outpatient setting
  • Perform clinical duties including taking vital signs, administering injections, and collecting lab specimens
  • Manage patient intake, update electronic health records, and coordinate follow-up care
  • Prepare exam rooms, sterilize equipment, and ensure supplies are fully stocked
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create a smooth, welcoming clinic experience

Qualifications

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification strongly preferred
  • Current BLS certification (American Heart Association or equivalent)
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a medical office or outpatient clinic
  • Experience with electronic health records and computerized order entry
  • Strong phlebotomy and medication administration skills
  • Ability to commit to a 26-week travel assignment in Tehachapi, CA

Knowledge & Skills

  • Solid understanding of medical terminology and clinical procedures
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Skilled in using medical equipment such as EKG machines, autoclaves, and vital sign monitors
  • Comfortable with patient documentation, charting, and managing medical records
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to build rapport with patients and work collaboratively with healthcare providers
