Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, evidence‑based care to laboring patients and newborns
• Monitor fetal heart tones, maternal vitals, and support mothers through labor
• Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, and neonatal staff to ensure seamless transitions
• Administer medications, perform assessments, and document care in electronic records
• Educate families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care

Qualifications

• Current BLS and NRP certifications
• NIHSS proficiency for stroke assessment
• Completion of Trinity Skills Checklist and Specialty Specific Competency Testing
• Valid Ohio RN license
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Labor and Delivery nursing practices
• Neonatal resuscitation techniques
• Fetal monitoring and assessment
• Patient education and counseling
• Electronic health record documentation
