Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert critical care to medical, neuro, and surgical ICU patients in a 32-bed unit
• Float between Medical HVCC, SICU, and IMC as part of the Flex Team
• Manage complex cases including sepsis, ESRD/AKI requiring CRRT/CVVH, post-cardiac arrest care, and respiratory failure
• Maintain a 1:2 or 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio, adapting to acuity needs
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care
• Monitor and stabilize critically ill patients, documenting and communicating changes promptly

Qualifications

• Active Massachusetts RN license (must be currently active)
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience, with MICU experience preferred
• 1 year in a Level 1 ICU accepted if strong background
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association
• Current NIHSS certification required
• Must reside outside a 90-mile radius from the facility

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical care nursing skills with a solid ICU foundation
• Comfort with CRRT and CVVH therapies
• Understanding of sepsis management, ESRD/AKI, and respiratory failure
• Ability to think quickly and prioritize in high-acuity situations
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Adaptability to float across different ICU settings
