Location: Bowie, Maryland

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per diem, days as scheduled (not specified), 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM day shift

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $16 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide respectful, person-centered care to geriatric residents
Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
Monitor residents for changes in condition and report concerns promptly
Support safe transfers and fall prevention protocols
Help maintain a clean, comfortable, and dignified environment for residents
Document care activities and observations accurately and timely
Collaborate with the care team to deliver consistent, compassionate care

Qualifications

Certified Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification required
Current basic life support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or required per facility
Demonstrated experience caring for older adults is a plus
Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team
Up-to-date immunizations and any facility-required health screenings

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
GNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

Understanding of geriatric care principles and dignity-based caregiving
Skills in assisting with ADLs and safe patient handling
Ability to observe and report clinical changes effectively
Familiarity with basic documentation and electronic charting
Compassion, patience, and strong interpersonal skills
