Geriatric Nursing Assistant
Location: Bowie, Maryland
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: Per diem, days as scheduled (not specified), 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM day shift
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $16 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide respectful, person-centered care to geriatric residents
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
- Monitor residents for changes in condition and report concerns promptly
- Support safe transfers and fall prevention protocols
- Help maintain a clean, comfortable, and dignified environment for residents
- Document care activities and observations accurately and timely
- Collaborate with the care team to deliver consistent, compassionate care
Qualifications
- Certified Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification required
- Current basic life support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or required per facility
- Demonstrated experience caring for older adults is a plus
- Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team
- Up-to-date immunizations and any facility-required health screenings
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- GNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of geriatric care principles and dignity-based caregiving
- Skills in assisting with ADLs and safe patient handling
- Ability to observe and report clinical changes effectively
- Familiarity with basic documentation and electronic charting
- Compassion, patience, and strong interpersonal skills
