CVOR Surgical Tech – UHC Staffing

Location: Colorado Springs, Colorado

Start Date: 07-06-2026

End Date: 10-05-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with on-call rotation (1 weekday and 1 weekend per month)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $52 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assist in a variety of surgical procedures including open heart, vascular, thoracic, general, neuro, spine, robotics, and ortho cases
Prepare the operating room, sterilize instruments, and ensure all equipment is functioning
Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and pass instruments during complex surgeries
Maintain a sterile field and adhere to infection control protocols
Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure positive patient outcomes
Float to the general OR as needed to support team coverage

Qualifications

Current Colorado DORA certification as a Surgical Technologist
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required
Minimum 2 years of recent CVOR experience preferred
Open heart and endovascular surgery experience essential
Must be comfortable with call requirements and floating

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in open heart and endovascular surgical techniques
Proficient in sterile technique and instrument handling
Strong ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced OR environment
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Knowledge of robotic and spine surgery setups a plus
