Roles & Responsibilities

• Implement therapeutic interventions designed to help patients regain functional independence
• Document patient progress accurately and in a timely manner
• Provide patient and family education to support continued recovery at home
• Communicate patient status and responses to the supervising Occupational Therapist
• Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant environment by following all safety and infection control protocols
• Work collaboratively with the rehab team to promote positive patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
• Active state COTA license in Iowa, or the ability to obtain one before starting
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
• A passion for patient care and helping others regain independence
• No prior experience required - new graduates welcome

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program

• Occupational therapy principles and treatment techniques
• Patient care and documentation best practices
