Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist in breast biopsy procedures including needle localizations, stereotactic biopsies, and ductograms — play a key part in diagnostic care
- Instruct and position patients to obtain diagnostic-quality radiographs with care and clarity
- Ensure the imaging area meets safety, supply, and cleanliness standards so patients and staff are protected
- Manually enter procedural and patient data accurately to prepare for dictation and billing
- Adhere to all KCI (Karmanos Cancer Institute) policies and procedures to maintain high standards of care
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients to ease anxiety and ensure cooperation during imaging
Qualifications
- 2+ years of Mammography experience — required
- ARRT (M) certification — required (please have documentation ready)
- BLS (AHA) certification — required
- Comfort and experience assisting with breast biopsy procedures and patient positioning
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform accurate manual data entry
Knowledge & Skills
- Mammography imaging techniques and best practices
- Stereotactic biopsy and needle localization support
- Ductograms and diagnostic radiography principles
- Patient positioning for high-quality diagnostic images
- Familiarity with safety, equipment maintenance, and supply management
- Accurate manual data entry and preparation for dictation
