Surgical Technologist - CVOR

Location: Sacramento, CA

Start Date: 07-21-2026

End Date: 10-20-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, varied 8-hour shifts (6:00 AM or 10:00 AM start), plus overnight call once a week and 1 weekend of call per month

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $52 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Prepare and maintain a sterile field in the cardiovascular operating room
Assist surgeons during open heart surgeries including CABG and valve replacements
Monitor patient vitals and interpret EKG strips
Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure smooth procedures
Participate in on-call coverage for overnight and weekend emergencies

Qualifications

Active BLS certification
NIHSS certification
Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience
First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Must not have been employed by CommonSpirit/CHI/Dignity within the past year

Knowledge & Skills

Strong knowledge of cardiovascular surgical procedures
Proficiency in sterile technique and OR protocols
Ability to read and interpret EKG strips
Experience with Cerner EMR preferred
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Flexibility to adapt to a fast-paced environment and varied shifts
