Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain sterile instruments and supplies for surgical procedures
• Assist the surgical team during operations by anticipating instruments and needs
• Perform instrument counts and document surgical supplies accurately
• Ensure operating room turnover is efficient, thorough, and safe
• Maintain a sterile field and adhere to infection control protocols
• Collaborate with nurses, surgeons, and techs to deliver high-quality patient care

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or equivalent training
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred or surgical tech certification eligible
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain
• Comfortable working evening shifts and collaborating in a fast-paced OR environment
• Strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and teamwork mindset

Education

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program
• High school diploma or GED required

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of sterile technique and operating room protocols
• Familiarity with surgical instrumentation, equipment setup, and sterile processing
• Ability to anticipate surgeon needs and prioritize during procedures
• Good documentation practices and adherence to safety standards
• Calm under pressure and able to maintain focus during complex cases
