Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Wednesday-Saturday, 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM, every third weekend

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide high-acuity care to medical ICU patients including sepsis, respiratory failure, stroke, and MI
Titrate vasopressors and sedation drips like levo, neo, cardene, and propofol
Collaborate with hospitalists and intensivists in a fast-paced 16-bed unit
Float to PCU as needed and support interdisciplinary team
Monitor telemetry strips and verify rhythms alongside monitor techs
Maintain a 2:1 nurse-to-patient ratio for critical patients

Qualifications

Active RN license in Iowa (compact accepted)
BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
2+ years of ICU experience preferred
Previous travel experience a plus
Comfort with vents, bipaps, and titratable drips
Must pass open-book exam with 90% during orientation

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in medical ICU patient populations
Proficiency in vasopressors and sedation management
Strong telemetry interpretation skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent critical thinking and adaptability
