Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Varying start times between 6:00 AM - 8:00 AM, with possible weekend call and on-call requirements

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide exceptional perioperative nursing care for orthopedic surgery patients
Prepare and maintain a sterile environment in the OR to ensure safety
Assist surgeons during procedures with precision and efficiency
Monitor patient vital signs and respond quickly to changes
Educate patients and families about surgical processes and recovery
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver top-notch outcomes

Qualifications

Active and unrestricted RN license in Iowa (or compact state)
Minimum 2 years of recent orthopedic OR experience
Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
Current NIHSS certification
Strong communication and teamwork skills

Knowledge & Skills

In-depth knowledge of orthopedic surgical procedures and instruments
Proficiency in sterile technique and infection control protocols
Ability to adapt to varying start times and on-call duties
Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills under pressure
