Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate nursing care to Med/Surg patients with professionalism and empathy
• Assess patient conditions, monitor vital signs, and document clinical findings accurately
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and facility protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and self-care prior to discharge
• Respond promptly to changes in patient status and escalate concerns to providers as needed
• Participate in orientation and unit-based initiatives to improve patient outcomes and workflows

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license (Louisiana) or eligibility to obtain state licensure
• Clinical experience or training in Medical-Surgical nursing (Med/Surg)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced certifications welcomed
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
• Ability to complete required onboarding/orientation and credentialing

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of Med/Surg nursing practices and patient care priorities
• Proficiency in charting, medication administration, and clinical assessment
• Comfort working in fast-paced hospital environments with changing priorities
• Skilled at patient/family education and compassionate bedside manner
• Ability to collaborate effectively with providers and the interdisciplinary team
