Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in a fast-paced Med Surg ICU
• Monitor and manage patients with complex conditions including respiratory failure, sepsis, stroke, and cardiogenic shock
• Titrate vasopressors, paralytics, and other critical drips as needed
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team including attendings, residents, and student providers
• Maintain accurate patient records and interpret telemetry strips
• Float to other inpatient units as required (excluding Maternity/NICU)

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state
• Minimum 2 years recent ICU experience
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Valid driver's license required at submittal
• Ability to pass open-book exam during orientation (90% required)
• Willingness to ask questions and maintain a positive attitude

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical thinking and rapid decision-making in high-stress situations
• Proficiency in titrating vasopressors, sedatives, and antiarrhythmics
• Experience with ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips and heart monitors
• Comfortable with hemodynamic monitoring (CVPs, arterial lines, Swan-Ganz) and CRRT (training available)
• Strong teamwork, communication, and collaboration skills
