Shift Type: Rotating nights, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (12-hour night shifts). Schedule runs in 4-week increments and includes weekends (minimum 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule); night shift/rotating with occasional float to med/surg as needed.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert, compassionate care to critically ill patients in the MICU, prioritizing safety and dignity
• Manage ventilators and advanced respiratory support to optimize patient breathing and outcomes
• Operate and monitor CRRT and SLED therapies for patients requiring renal support
• Perform and care for invasive lines and procedures including central and arterial lines, lumbar punctures, chest tube management, and EVD care
• Document patient status and interventions accurately in Meditech to ensure continuity of care
• Collaborate closely with physicians, therapists, techs and unit staff to deliver coordinated, high-quality care
• Advocate for patients and families with clear, compassionate communication during critical moments
• Adapt to variable patient acuity and staffing, maintaining calm and clinical judgment under pressure

Qualifications

• Active RN license (required)
• Minimum 2 years of ICU/critical care experience
• ACLS and BLS certifications (required)
• Proven experience with ventilator management and critical care equipment
• Comfortable with unit-specific procedures such as central line and arterial line management, lumbar puncture, chest tube care, and EVD handling
• Ability to float to med/surg and take assignments as needed

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical care nursing knowledge and high-acuity assessment skills
• Hands-on experience with ventilators and respiratory management
• Familiarity with CRRT and SLED modalities
• Experience using EV 1000 hemodynamic monitoring and Meditech documentation
• Competence in insertion care and troubleshooting of central and arterial lines
• Skill in chest tube and EVD management and post-procedure monitoring
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and patient/family-centered care skills
