Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, expert nursing care to critically ill patients in a 33-bed ICU
• Monitor and manage patients with trauma, cardiac conditions, strokes, and respiratory distress
• Titrate cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation as needed
• Interpret telemetry strips and document patient rhythms
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including RT, nurse aides, and healthcare support techs
• Float to PCU or MedSurg when needed, maintaining appropriate patient ratios
• Participate in orientation and pass an open-book exam on skills learned

Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Nebraska or compact state
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Driver's license required for onboarding
• Must be willing to comply with fingernail policy (no artificial nails in patient care areas)
• Minimum of 2 holidays worked during contract time frame
• Must be available for every other weekend

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in titrating cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation
• Experience with GE monitor systems and telemetry interpretation
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills for ICU patients
• Ability to float and adapt to different units (PCU, MedSurg)
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills
