Roles & Responsibilities

• Circulate in the OR for gynecologic procedures including robotic hysterectomy, laparoscopies, hysteroscopies, D&C, LEEP and therapeutic abortions
• Prepare and manage the sterile field, instruments and equipment (Da Vinci, NOVASURE, MYOSURE) to support flawless procedures
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia and perioperative team to coordinate safe, efficient patient care
• Perform medication and supply management using Pyxis and maintain accurate documentation in Epic
• Provide compassionate, age-appropriate care for female patients ages 12 and up
• Participate in call rotation and float to other surgical service areas as needed
• Communicate clinical status and handoffs clearly using SBAR to promote patient safety

Qualifications

• Active RN license (eligible to practice in North Carolina)
• Minimum 2 years of OR experience (HARD STOP — 2 years required)
• Previous travel experience required — unit will not accept first-time travelers
• BCLS (BLS) certification required
• Robotics training preferred (Da Vinci experience a plus)
• Proficiency with Epic charting and Pyxis medication systems preferred
• Comfortable with perioperative gynecologic procedures including hysterectomy, D&C, LEEP and cystoscopy
• Able to complete a brief orientation (16 hours) and participate in on-call rotation

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong perioperative nursing skills for General OR and Gynecology
• Experience with robotic-assisted surgery and familiarity with Da Vinci systems
• Knowledge of gynecologic procedures: hysterectomy (vaginal, abdominal, laparoscopic), laparoscopies, hysteroscopies, therapeutic abortion
• Skilled in sterile technique, instrument handling and operating room flow
• Comfortable using Epic, Pyxis and structured communication tools like SBAR
• Ability to think quickly, prioritize under pressure and support the surgical team
