Location: College Station, Texas

Start Date: 07-06-2026

End Date: 09-28-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 12-hour shifts available: Day (starting at 6:45 AM), Night (starting at 6:45 PM), and Midshifts (starting at 9 AM, 11 AM, 1 PM, 3 PM). Every other weekend required.

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $55 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced Level III Trauma Center and STEMI/Stroke receiving facility
Triage and treat a diverse patient population including pediatrics, cardiac, trauma, and general emergencies
Administer common emergency medications including pressors and sedation drips
Perform EKGs and interpret telemetry strips
Collaborate with physicians, mid-levels, and support staff to deliver high-quality care
Manage critical patients in 4 trauma/resuscitation rooms
Maintain a 1:3-4 nurse-to-patient ratio depending on acuity

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent ED experience
First-time travelers are welcome
BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required
Must pass Advanced Dysrhythmia test (83%) before contract start
Comfortable with pediatric patients (only hospital in area admitting peds)

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient in cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
Experience with common ED drips (pressors, sedation, etc.)
Knowledge of trauma, stroke, and STEMI protocols
Ability to care for holds and psych patients (placement arranged by specialists)
Strong communication and teamwork skills
