Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population including trauma, pediatric, and geriatric cases
• Triage patients efficiently using the 'first eyes' system to ensure timely care
• Manage acute care patients with ratios of 1:3-4 and respond to Level I traumas with 1:1 or 2:1 assignments
• Administer critical drips such as Cardene, Levophed, and sedation medications
• Float between Bryan and College Station campuses as needed to support the team
• Participate in shared governance and unit-based councils to improve patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent ER experience in a similar volume, trauma level, and size facility
• Active RN license in Texas or compact state
• Must pass Advanced Dysrhythmia exam (83%) within first three attempts before contract start
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS certifications required
• Comfortable with caring for holds, psych patients, and fast-track (vertical care) patients

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in chest tube setup, rapid transfusions, and intubated patient care
• Experience with PulseCheck or Picis EMR
• Strong ability to monitor own telemetry and interpret rhythms
• Skilled in working with patient care techs, mid-level providers, and respiratory therapists in a fast-paced environment
• Adaptable to floating and precepting when needed
