Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 9:00 AM - 2:00 AM, rotating shifts including weekends and holidays, every other weekend required

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $55 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide emergency care to patients of all ages, from pediatric to geriatric, with diverse conditions including trauma, stroke, STEMI, and medical emergencies
Perform patient assessments, telemetry monitoring, IV therapy, wound care, and EKG interpretation
Assist with central line placement, chest tubes, rapid transfusions, and MTP
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in a Level III Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center
Float between Bryan and College Station campuses as needed
Maintain a safe and organized environment, adhering to protocols and policies

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent ER nursing experience in a similar volume and acuity setting
Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS certifications
Must pass Advanced Dysrhythmia exam (83%) before contract start
Comfortable with central line placement, MTP, chest tubes, trauma, STEMI, and stroke care
Active RN license in Texas or compact state

Knowledge & Skills

ER nursing and patient assessment
Telemetry monitoring and EKG interpretation
IV therapy and wound care
Central line placement and chest tube management
Trauma care, STEMI care, and stroke care
Administration of critical drips: Diltiazem, Cardene, Nitro, Propofol, Fentanyl, Levophed
Proficiency in PulseCheck and Picis EMR systems
