Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population including trauma, stroke, STEMI, and pediatric cases
• Triage patients, assess acuity, and initiate appropriate interventions
• Manage critical drips such as Cardene, Levophed, and sedation medications
• Assist with central line placement, chest tubes, and massive transfusion protocols
• Work collaboratively with a dedicated team including MDs, midlevels, and techs in a fast-paced Level III Trauma Center
• Float between Bryan and College Station campuses as needed (16 minutes apart)

Qualifications

• 2+ years of recent Emergency Room experience required
• Must pass Advanced Dysrhythmia exam (83%) before signing contract
• Experience in a facility with similar patient volume and trauma level
• Comfortable with central line placement, MTP, chest tubes, trauma, STEMIs, and strokes
• Must not have been directly employed by CommonSpirit/CHI/Dignity within the past year

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS
• Skilled in advanced dysrhythmia interpretation and telemetry monitoring
• Experience with trauma care, stroke care, and STEMI care
• Knowledge of common ER drips and emergency medications
• Ability to work in a team-oriented, shared governance environment
• Familiarity with PulseCheck or Picis EMR
