Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver expert emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population including trauma, burns, and cardiac cases
• Triage and stabilize patients in a fast-paced Level 1 Trauma Center with 88,000 visits yearly
• Monitor telemetry strips and respond to critical changes in patient status
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of physicians, midlevels, and support staff
• Float between 4 ER facilities to ensure seamless care across the system
• Participate in SIMs Lab training to maintain high competency in sterile field procedures
• Mentor and support new team members as needed

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of ER experience required
• Minimum 6 months of Trauma Level 1 experience mandatory
• Active RN license in Arizona or compact state
• Pass the DYS exam prior to accepting assignment (2 attempts, 6-month DNU if failed)
• Must pass SIMs Lab on Day 1 – including Foley catheter insertion, central line dressing changes, and port-a-cath insertion
• No facial piercings; natural hair color; men must be clean-shaven for fit test
• Own reliable vehicle required for floating between facilities

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in Cerner EMR and Philips telemetry monitoring
• Strong understanding of sterile technique and infection control
• Ability to read and interpret cardiac strips
• Experience with vent management, though RT handles primary care
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in high-stress environments
