Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ functional status and document findings clearly in Epic
• Implement therapeutic interventions (AROM/AAROM/PROM, gait training, modalities)
• Set up and operate modalities such as ultrasound, TENS and e-stim safely
• Instruct and progress individualized Home Exercise Programs to meet goals
• Assist with patient transfers, lifts and safe use of assistive devices
• Support orthopedic and post-op patients (total hip/knee, shoulder, spine) with evidence-based care
• Collaborate with the PT team and interdisciplinary staff to deliver coordinated care
• Maintain accurate documentation and assist with billing-relevant information for commercial, Medicaid and Medicare B cases

Qualifications

• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in Oregon — OR PTA license in-hand required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of PTA experience (acute care or outpatient orthopedics preferred)
• Experience or comfort working in OR or short-term acute care settings is a big plus
• Familiarity with Epic charting system preferred

Education

• Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program (associate degree or equivalent)
• Oregon PTA licensure required

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and strength testing
• AROM/AAROM/PROM techniques and body mechanics
• Designing and progressing Home Exercise Programs
• Gait training, transfers and use of assistive devices
• Modalities: ultrasound, TENS, e-stim, moist heat, cryotherapy, cervical traction
• Manual skills including myofascial release and taping
• Orthopedic post-op care (total hip/knee, shoulder, spine) and common MSK diagnoses
• Documentation best practices and familiarity with commercial/Medicaid/Medicare billing basics
