Roles & Responsibilities

• Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons to diagnose and treat musculoskeletal conditions
• Perform comprehensive patient evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans
• Order, review, and interpret diagnostic imaging studies to guide care decisions
• Assist in the operating room during orthopedic surgical procedures
• Provide thorough pre-operative and post-operative patient management
• Educate patients and families about conditions, recovery expectations, and rehabilitation
• Perform joint injections and other office-based orthopedic procedures
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives that enhance patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Board certified or board eligible in Orthopaedic Surgery (required)
• Current Vermont PA-C license or willingness to obtain (required)
• Minimum 2 years PA experience in primary care or relevant specialty (highly preferred)
• CPR certification for healthcare providers (required prior to start)
• DEA registration (required prior to start)
• Not accepting new grads with less than 1 year of experience

• Strong foundation in patient evaluation and musculoskeletal assessment
• Confident in treatment planning and diagnostic interpretation
• Skilled in surgical assistance and sterile technique
• Comfortable performing joint injections and office-based procedures
• Clear, compassionate approach to patient education
• Detail-oriented medical documentation habits
• Team-oriented mindset for seamless care coordination
