Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect
- Provide compassionate personal care and support to enhance comfort and quality of life
- Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes in condition to nursing staff promptly
- Document resident care accurately in charts and electronic records to ensure continuity
- Collaborate with the caregiving team to implement individualized care plans
- Maintain a safe, clean, and respectful environment for residents at all times
Qualifications
- Active GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) required
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Ability to pass background check and required immunizations
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner
- Previous experience in long-term care or geriatrics is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or GED; GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Comfortable assisting with ADLs and providing hands-on resident care
- Knowledge of basic infection control and safe patient handling techniques
- Ability to take and document vital signs accurately
- Familiarity with electronic charting or willingness to learn
- Team-oriented approach and effective communication with residents and staff
- Good time management and observation skills to notice changes in residents
