Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor critically ill patients across MICU, SICU, CVICU and Neuro ICU with vigilance and clinical judgment
- Manage ventilators, hemodynamics, and advanced critical-care modalities as patient needs require
- Deliver timely ACLS/BLS/PALS interventions following established protocols
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and communicate changes in patient status to the interdisciplinary team
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, and other disciplines to create and implement care plans
- Support families with compassionate updates and education during emotionally charged moments
- Adapt to unit needs including floating to CVCU or ED while maintaining high standards of care
- Participate in orientation and precepting as needed to support unit consistency and traveler integration
Qualifications
- Current RN licensure for Oklahoma (Compact licensure accepted)
- ACLS (AHA) required
- BLS (AHA) required
- PALS (AHA) required
- Critical care / ICU nursing experience (comfortable with high-acuity patients and staffing ratios mainly 1:2)
- Willingness to work 12-hour night shifts and float between related critical-care areas as needed
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong critical care knowledge: ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, invasive lines and titratable drips
- Familiarity with ICU workflows across medical, surgical, cardiovascular and neuro specialties
- Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced critical care environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills with interdisciplinary staff
- Pediatric care readiness for occasional pediatric patients when needed
- Comfort with staffing ratio adjustments and floating protocols
