Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care on a progressive care/telemetry unit
- Monitor and interpret telemetry and bedside monitor data to detect changes in patient condition
- Perform assessments, administer medications, and coordinate timely interventions
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient care plans
- Manage quick turnover and short-stay patients while maintaining safety and efficiency
- Communicate clearly with patients and families to deliver compassionate, informed care
- Float to other units as needed to support staffing and continuity of care
Qualifications
- Active RN license (state licensure required)
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (Progressive Care/Telemetry experience required)
- Telemetry competency is a must — candidates without telemetry skills will not be considered
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Experience with Cerner or similar EMR systems preferred
- Comfort working in mixed-level care settings (medical-surgical and step-down)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation skills
- Progressive Care and Medical-Surgical clinical knowledge
- Familiarity with Cerner electronic medical records
- Ability to manage short-stay and quick-turnover patient populations
- Effective communication, teamwork, and a patient-focused bedside manner
- Adaptability to float between units and manage variable patient acuity
