Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality radiographic exams and produce diagnostic images with precision
• Operate and maintain radiographic equipment such as Philips DR, Konica DR, and C-arms
• Ensure patient safety and comfort through proper positioning, communication, and care
• Adhere to radiation safety protocols and maintain required dosimeter usage
• Document procedures and enter imaging data accurately into the EMR (Meditech/Epic)
• Work independently and make sound decisions while collaborating with the care team
• Participate in call rotations as scheduled and be ready to support emergent imaging needs
• Support departmental quality assurance and equipment checks to ensure optimal performance

Qualifications

• Current State of Hawaii Radiologic Technologist license required (must have by start of assignment)
• Current ARRT certification required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Minimum of 2 years experience as a Radiologic Technologist
• Must possess or wear a dosimeter badge and follow radiation safety practices
• Able to travel to Hilo and arrive the Friday before assignment start for required clearances

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with radiographic equipment operation and imaging protocols
• Experience with Philips DR, Philips C-arm, OEC C-arm, and Konica DR preferred
• Familiarity with Meditech and Epic electronic medical records
• Strong understanding of radiation safety and protection procedures
• Excellent patient positioning, communication, and infection control skills
• Ability to function independently and manage a variable caseload
