Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert nursing care before, during, and after angiography and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures
• Perform hemodynamic monitoring and calculate cardiac output to guide patient care
• Set up procedural equipment and operate life-saving devices such as intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) and Impella
• Administer and monitor patient sedation with close attention to safety
• Scrub cases and maintain sterile technique to ensure excellent procedural conditions
• Accurately document procedural details and patient data on appropriate records
• Assist radiologic technologists by circulating cases and preparing procedural supplies
• Deliver clear patient education and post-procedure instruction to support recovery

Qualifications

• Active Michigan RN license (must be active in LARA/Nursys)
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification
• Active American Heart Association ACLS certification
• Cath Lab RN experience required
• Experience with patient sedation required
• Experience with scrubbing and sterile technique
• Skills checklist current within the last year and 2 supervisory references completed within the last two years
• Epic EMR experience preferred; travel work experience preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Cath Lab nursing and pre/post-procedure care
• Hemodynamic monitoring and cardiac output calculation
• Operation of IABP and Impella devices
• Patient sedation and procedural monitoring
• Scrubbing and sterile procedural technique
• Procedural documentation and data recording
• Familiarity with interventional radiology, structural heart, neuro-intervention, vascular, and EP device procedures
• Experience with Epic EMR is a plus
