Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered care across the continuum of the day shift
- Assess patient status, develop and implement individualized nursing plans, and evaluate outcomes
- Administer medications, manage IV therapy, and monitor clinical changes with vigilance
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and communicate changes
- Respond to on-call needs, support urgent patient issues during holidays and weekends
- Document care accurately and timely in the electronic medical record to ensure continuity
- Educate patients and families to promote recovery and safe discharge planning
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia or compact RN licensure
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced certifications such as ACLS preferred
- Clinical experience in acute care settings preferred (2+ years recommended)
- Ability and willingness to work holidays, weekends, and participate in on-call rotations
- Strong communication skills, dependable work ethic, and team-oriented attitude
- Must meet standard employer onboarding requirements such as background check and immunizations
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Thorough patient assessment and clinical judgment
- Medication administration and IV management
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation best practices
- Prioritization and time management in a busy day-shift environment
- Clear, compassionate communication with patients, families, and team members
- Ability to respond calmly and effectively to urgent clinical situations
