Roles & Responsibilities
- Participate in a formal orientation program, including hands-on training and simulation sessions
- Deliver safe, patient-centered care under established protocols and nursing supervision
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans
- Monitor and accurately document patients' vital signs and clinical status in the EMR
- Educate patients and families on conditions, post-treatment care, and prevention strategies
- Assist with procedures and manage medical equipment as needed
- Document patient care activities in a timely, accurate manner within electronic medical records
- Engage with mentors and preceptors to reflect on practice and support professional growth
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to legal and ethical standards of nursing practice
Qualifications
- Current, valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Hampshire (verified via Nursys)
- Graduate of an accredited ADN or BSN nursing program (ADN or BSN required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS, AHA) certification required
- Comfortable with medical-surgical nursing, patient assessment, and EMR documentation
- Willingness to complete formal orientation and simulation training
- Strong communication, teamwork, and commitment to patient-centered care
- New grads welcome — program is set up to train and support early-career nurses
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited program
Knowledge & Skills
- Medical-surgical nursing principles and clinical assessment
- Proficient documentation in electronic medical records (EMR)
- Monitoring and interpreting vital signs and reporting changes
- Patient and family education with clear, compassionate communication
- Collaboration within a multidisciplinary care team
- Quality improvement mindset and participation in unit initiatives
- Procedure assistance, equipment handling, and basic troubleshooting
- Understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements
- Simulation-based clinical skills development
