Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered critical care to adult ICU patients during night shifts
• Assess, monitor, and document physiological status and respond to changes using sound clinical judgment
• Manage ventilators, hemodynamic support, and complex medication regimens safely and effectively
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans
• Perform admissions, discharges, transfers, and comprehensive handoffs to ensure continuity of care
• Educate patients and families compassionately about conditions, treatment plans, and follow-up needs
• Maintain compliance with required skills validation and competency exams (Prime Core Competencies, Prime Specialty Exam)

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted RN license in Kansas (or eligibility to obtain prior to start)
• ICU experience preferred; night-shift experience a plus
• Required certifications: DCI/BVP (as listed)
• BLS and ACLS certifications strongly preferred or required by facility
• Completion of Prime Core Competencies Exam, Prime Skills Checklist, and Prime Specialty Exam as part of onboarding
• Up-to-date immunizations and health screenings as listed by the facility (COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Influenza, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Tdap, TB test/PPD and chest x-ray if applicable)
• Successful completion of required pre-employment testing (10-panel drug screen, fit test, color-blind test, physical/health statement)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills for critically ill patients
• Experience with ventilator management and advanced cardiac monitoring
• Medication administration knowledge including vasoactive drips and titration
• Proficient documentation skills and comfort using electronic health records
• Excellent communication and teamwork in high-acuity, fast-paced environments
• Ability to prioritize, triage, and respond to emergent changes during night shifts
