Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, safe, and evidence-based nursing care to patients in the medical unit
• Perform thorough assessments and document findings clearly in the medical record
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and on schedule
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans
• Monitor patient status and escalate concerns promptly to appropriate providers
• Maintain infection control and safety standards at all times
• Participate in orientation and training activities to stay current with facility procedures

Qualifications

• Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Comfortable working night shifts and in a secure facility setting
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or obtain upon hire
• Professional, dependable, and able to work independently and as part of a team
• Previous medical or correctional healthcare experience is a plus

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (diploma, ASN, or BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Medication administration and documentation proficiency
• Familiarity with infection control practices and standard precautions
• Clear, professional communication with patients and team members
• Time management and prioritization in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and follow facility security protocols
