Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients' functional abilities and design individualized occupational therapy treatment plans
• Deliver hands-on therapeutic interventions to improve daily living skills and independence
• Document progress clearly and timely, ensuring regulatory and facility standards are met
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and rehab team members to coordinate holistic care
• Educate patients and families on adaptive techniques, home modifications, and community resources
• Recommend and train patients on assistive devices and adaptive equipment to maximize function
• Participate in shift handoffs and team meetings to ensure continuity of care

Qualifications

• Active Occupational Therapist license in Massachusetts (required)
• Entry-level or advanced clinical degree in Occupational Therapy (MOT, MSOT, or OTD)
• NBCOT certification preferred or willingness to obtain where applicable
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification or willingness to obtain
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced rehab/contract setting and covering all days of the week
• Clear background check and ability to meet facility onboarding requirements

Education

• Master's or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy (MOT, MSOT, or OTD) or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong assessment and treatment planning skills for adult rehab populations
• Skilled in ADL/IADL training, adaptive equipment recommendations, and splinting basics
• Excellent clinical documentation and time management
• Collaborative communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Ability to adapt interventions to meet short-term contract goals and facility protocols
