Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert pre-op and post-op Phase II care for day surgery and procedural patients, ensuring safe transitions
• Assess patients thoroughly and coordinate individualized care plans in line with the ANA Standards of Nursing Practice
• Lead and collaborate with the perioperative team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care
• Administer IV infusions (non-chemo) safely and monitor patient responses
• Perform PACU and CCU-level monitoring and interventions for recovering patients
• Educate patients and families on post-procedure care, discharge instructions, and follow-up needs
• Document care accurately in the electronic medical record and support the EMR transition process from Meditech to Epic
• Participate in evening and weekend on-call rotations and respond promptly to unit needs

Qualifications

• Current Colorado Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Minimum of 3 years RN experience, with recent experience in Day Surgery/Procedures and IV infusion (non-chemo)
• PACU and CCU experience required
• BLS, ACLS and PALS from the American Heart Association with cards in-hand before start date
• Epic experience required (Meditech experience helpful for transition)
• Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered/Professional Nursing program
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)

Education

• Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered/Professional Nursing program (Associate's or Bachelor's level acceptable)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proven skills in pre-op assessment, post-op Phase II recovery, and discharge planning
• Comfortable with IV infusion management (non-chemotherapy)
• PACU and CCU monitoring, assessment, and interventions
• Working knowledge of ANA Standards of Nursing Practice and patient care coordination
• Experience documenting in electronic medical records — Epic experience specifically
• Able to function in evening and weekend on-call rotations and remain responsive under pressure
• Strong communication, teamwork, and patient education abilities
