Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to medical and surgical patients across units
• Administer and manage wound care, including Wound VAC therapy
• Manage chest tubes and other unit-specific procedures with confidence and attention to detail
• Float between Medical, Laulima (surgical acute), and Cardiovascular units as needed to meet patient needs
• Document assessments, interventions, and care plans accurately in Meditech EMR
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support safe patient flow and effective care transitions
• Maintain professional nursing standards, participate in unit orientation, and keep certifications current

Qualifications

• Active Hawaii RN license required by start of assignment
• 2-10 years of nursing experience (per job requirements)
• BLS and ACLS required
• Preferred certifications: PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, ENPC
• Comfortable floating between units and adapting to variable patient ratios
• Proof of immunity required; medical and religious exemptions will not be accepted

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong Med-Surgical nursing knowledge
• Wound care expertise, including Wound VAC use
• Chest tube management skills
• Proficient with Meditech EMR and Pyxis medication systems
• Ability to prioritize, triage, and manage multiple patients on 12-hour night shifts
• Adaptability to float between units and learn unit-specific workflows
