Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents by assisting with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility
• Take and record vital signs and report any changes in condition to the nursing team promptly
• Support safe transfers and proper use of assistive devices to promote independence
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care and resident observations
• Help create a clean, comfortable environment and adhere to infection control standards
• Collaborate with nurses and therapists to follow care plans and deliver quality rehabilitation support

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (Certified Nursing Assistant) required
• Eligibility for or current New Mexico CNA listing/license preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening as required by facility
• Compassionate attitude, strong communication skills, and ability to work as part of a team
• Previous experience in long-term care, rehabilitation, or similar setting is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED required
• Completion of an approved nursing assistant training program and CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on patient care and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Vital signs monitoring and basic clinical observation
• Infection prevention and safe patient handling techniques
• Basic charting and documentation practices (paper or electronic)
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to de-escalate and comfort patients
• Time management and prioritization in a fast-paced care environment
