Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess assigned patients using age-specific criteria and clinical judgment to inform care
• Plan individualized care and execute evidence-based interventions for OB/GYN patients
• Implement and evaluate patient care, documenting outcomes and adjusting plans as needed
• Serve as first assist and scrub in OB procedures when required (highly valued skill)
• Teach, direct, and mentor non-RN staff such as LPNs, PCTs, and unit secretaries
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, comprehensive patient care
• Float to other units within your scope when needed to support staffing and patient needs
• Demonstrate flexibility with schedule changes while maintaining high standards of care

Qualifications

• Active Ohio RN license or Compact RN license (Nursys must show Active OH/Ohio or Compact) — must be active
• Minimum 2+ years OB experience (required)
• Completion of at least 1 previous travel assignment (required)
• Active American Heart Association BLS (required)
• Active American Heart Association ACLS (required)
• Active Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (required)
• Active S.T.A.B.L.E. certification (required)
• Active Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) certification (required)
• Ability to function as 1st assist and scrub OB (highly preferred)
• Experience with MediTech EMR (preferred)
• Willingness to float to units within scope of practice

• Strong patient assessment and age-specific clinical judgment
• Care planning, implementation, and evaluation skills grounded in best practices
• Proficiency in OB procedural support (first assist and scrub) and fetal monitoring
• Effective teaching and mentoring skills for non-RN staff
• Ability to adapt to varied shift patterns and changing unit needs
• Comfortable using MediTech EMR for documentation and care coordination
• Teamwork, clear communication, and patient-centered advocacy
