Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist in a wide variety of surgical procedures, maintaining efficiency and precision
• Prepare and maintain a sterile field and ensure instruments and supplies are ready for each case
• Provide reliable perioperative call coverage and respond promptly for urgent cases
• Support Level 1 trauma cases with composure and strong technical skill
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, nurses, and support staff to deliver excellent patient care
• Document perioperative care and instrument counts accurately and professionally
• Adapt quickly to changing case demands, including weekends and holidays

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required
• Level 1 trauma experience required; comfortable in high-acuity trauma settings
• Travel experience preferred; able to adapt to new facilities and teams
• Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and take call as needed
• High demonstrated skills rating in perioperative practice
• Burn experience preferred

Education

• Completion of an accredited surgical technologist program and CST certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Thorough knowledge of sterile technique and OR safety protocols
• Familiarity with surgical instruments, equipment setup, and turnover procedures
• Experience with trauma surgery workflows and rapid response in emergent situations
• Strong communication and teamwork skills in high-pressure environments
• Attention to detail for accurate counts and documentation
• Ability to multitask and prioritize during busy operative schedules
