Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide basic nursing care to medical/surgical patients under RN/LPN supervision
• Assist with patient mobility and safe lifting, including frequent lifting up to 25 lbs and occasional lifts up to 50 lbs
• Observe and report changes in patient condition promptly to clinical staff
• Maintain patient confidentiality and demonstrate compassionate, therapeutic communication
• Support infection control practices and safe handling of potentially hazardous materials
• Incorporate guest relations into daily activities to create a welcoming patient experience
• Work as a team player in a fast-paced, sometimes unpredictable environment

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (required)
• Experience or comfort working in a medical/surgical setting (preferred)
• Able to stand and walk continuously and perform frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling
• Able to perceive colors and distinguish visual attributes as part of patient care tasks
• Comfortable and trained to manage occasionally combative patients in a safe manner
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team

Knowledge & Skills

• Basic nursing care and patient care fundamentals
• Patient lifting and safe body mechanics
• Infection control practices and patient confidentiality
• Therapeutic communication and empathy with patients and families
• Teamwork, guest relations, and working effectively across socioeconomic backgrounds
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods and perform physical patient-care tasks
• Color identification and observational skills for clinical assessments
• Situational awareness in fast-paced, variable environments
