Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality direct patient care on a med-surg/telemetry unit
• Continuously monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry and respond to changes in condition
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document care accurately
• Use the Sunrise EMR to chart assessments, interventions and care plans
• Collaborate with physicians, monitor techs and interdisciplinary staff to coordinate patient care
• Lead bedside patient education and discharge teaching to promote recovery
• Employ ACLS protocols when emergencies arise and support team-based resuscitation
• Safely care for higher-acuity and bariatric patients using proper equipment and safe-handling techniques

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license (New Hampshire or compact license acceptable)
• Minimum 2 years clinical nursing experience (telemetry or med-surg strongly preferred)
• ACLS certification required
• Proven telemetry experience and comfort with cardiac monitoring
• Familiarity with Sunrise EMR preferred
• Ability to work 12-hour day shifts and participate in every-other-weekend rotation

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry monitoring and interpretation skills
• Solid med-surgical nursing knowledge and clinical assessment ability
• Proficient documentation and clinical charting in Sunrise EMR
• Experience with infusion pumps (Alaris) and common unit equipment
• Good critical thinking and prioritization in a moderate-acuity environment
• Clear communication and teamwork with interdisciplinary staff
• Patient safety and safe-handling experience for bariatric patients
