Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional, patient-centered PICU nursing care, keeping critically ill children safe and comfortable
• Manage complex ventilator settings and respiratory care with confidence
• Perform hemodynamic monitoring and respond to changes in patient status quickly
• Execute procedures such as IV starts, central line dressing changes, trach care, and tube feedings
• Monitor and manage ICP concerns under physician guidance
• Document thoroughly and accurately in Cerner to ensure continuity of care
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Support unit flow and staffing through professional, team-oriented communication

Qualifications

• PALS certification required (unit explicitly lists PALs as must-have)
• Minimum 2 years of experience (as listed) with at least 1 year of PICU experience preferred/required by unit
• Comfort working in a 9-bed PICU with 1:1 to 1:2 patient ratios
• Ability and willingness to float to Pediatrics and NICU as needed
• Experience with Cerner documentation and Alaris infusion pumps preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong PICU nursing skillset including ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring
• Hands-on experience with IV starts, central line dressing changes, trach care, and tube feeding
• Familiarity with ICP monitoring and management
• Proficient Cerner documentation skills
• Comfortable using Alaris pumps and other unit-specific equipment
• Ability to work effectively in high-acuity, fast-paced pediatric settings
