Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor cardiac telemetry and patient monitoring systems to detect and report changes promptly
• Perform bedside shift reports and hourly safety rounding to keep patients safe and informed
• Document care accurately in Meditech, ensuring clean charting and continuity
• Draw labs and assist with routine procedures as needed to support timely diagnoses
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient-centered care
• Respond to emergencies and escalate concerns in a calm, confident manner
• Maintain unit-specific standards, including patient ratios and bedside experience expectations

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice (or compact RN as applicable)
• Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience (telemetry/medical-surgical preferred)
• BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
• Successful completion of the hospital telemetry competency/test (must pass prior to start)
• Comfortable with 12-hour night shifts and floating to like units or ED telemetry holds
• Phlebotomy skills or previous experience drawing labs strongly preferred

Education

• Nursing diploma, Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – active RN license required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry and cardiac monitoring knowledge with attention to arrhythmia recognition
• Proficient with Meditech documentation or similar electronic health record systems
• Excellent clinical assessment and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment
• Clear, compassionate communication with patients, families, and team members
• Ability to work independently on shift while engaging collaboratively with the care team
• Familiarity with bedside shift reporting and hourly safety rounding best practices
