Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert emergency nursing care in a high-volume ED, quickly assessing and stabilizing patients
• Perform triage and manage trauma and stroke patients, including NIHSS assessments when indicated
• Administer medications and operate unit equipment such as Baxter pumps and GE monitors
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in Cerner
• Coach and give real-time feedback to teammates to support a culture of continuous improvement
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver excellent patient experience using AIDET and clear communication
• Maintain appropriate patient ratios and adapt to the fast pace of a Level 2 trauma / comprehensive stroke center

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' nursing experience with at least 1 year in an ER setting; experience in a Level 2 trauma center and a high-volume ED preferred
• Current, active RN license (state requirements apply; compact license may be acceptable depending on state rules)
• ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS required prior to start; ENPC required within 90 days of hire
• Comfortable working nights and every-other-weekend schedule and able to float across ED sections
• Strong teamwork, communication skills, and ability to coach and provide feedback in real time

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency nursing principles, trauma care, and stroke management
• Triage best practices and high-volume ED workflows
• Cerner documentation system proficiency
• Experience with Baxter infusion pumps and GE monitoring systems
• Cardiac monitoring and rapid interpretation of telemetry
• Patient experience practices (AIDET) and effective bedside communication
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining patient safety
