Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead pharmacy operations in an acute care hospital setting, guiding the team to deliver safe, efficient medication services
• Oversee scheduling and workflow management to optimize coverage and patient care
• Provide leadership support for IV compounding practices and ensure staff competency
• Review and update pharmacy policies and procedures to maintain regulatory compliance
• Facilitate meetings and training sessions to build team skills and coordinate clinical initiatives
• Use medication dispensing systems (Pyxis) and BD suite tools to streamline operations and improve accuracy
• Drive detail-focused quality improvement efforts and mentor staff to promote best practices

Qualifications

• Licensure as a pharmacist in the State of California (required)
• Minimum two years of leadership experience in an acute care hospital pharmacy (required)
• Experience supervising pharmacy operations, scheduling, and workflow management
• Comfortable training staff and facilitating meetings to support operational goals
• Knowledge of USP standards and IV compounding best practices
• Familiarity with medication dispensing systems (Pyxis) and BD PK/C2 Safe
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
• Detail-oriented with strong communication and team leadership skills

Education

• Graduation from an accredited School of Pharmacy (preferred/expected for licensure)
• Pharm.D. degree preferred
• Completion of an ASHP-accredited residency program preferred
