Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead and support the nursing team as the unit manager, driving quality patient care every shift
• Coordinate interdisciplinary care plans and ensure smooth handoffs between providers
• Supervise staffing, assign duties, and mentor nurses to promote professional growth
• Maintain compliance with facility policies, regulatory standards, and safety protocols
• Oversee documentation, quality improvement initiatives, and performance metrics
• Troubleshoot operational issues on the unit and communicate effectively with leadership
• Champion a positive patient experience through compassionate care and clear communication

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Maine or compact state privileges (required)
• Proven experience as a Unit Manager or charge nurse in an acute or post-acute setting (preferred)
• Current BLS certification; additional certifications (ACLS, TNCC) a plus
• Strong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
• Ability to work Monday-Friday day shift and manage unit operations independently

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical assessment and patient safety best practices
• Staff leadership, delegation, and performance coaching
• Care coordination across interdisciplinary teams
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
• Quality improvement and regulatory compliance knowledge
• Time management and prioritization in a fast-paced clinical environment
