Candidate Pay Rate: $53 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess communication and swallowing needs using evidence-based evaluations and clinical judgment
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that make measurable progress for each patient
- Deliver skilled therapy in individual and group settings with compassion and clarity
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and physicians to coordinate patient-centered care
- Document sessions and progress thoroughly and timely in the facility’s electronic records
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers to support carryover and successful discharges
- Participate in care planning and interdisciplinary meetings to improve outcomes
Qualifications
- Active Virginia Speech-Language Pathology license or eligibility to obtain one quickly
- ASHA CCC-SLP preferred
- Experience in rehabilitation or post-acute care settings is a strong plus
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain
- Clean background check and ability to complete facility onboarding
- Comfortable with electronic documentation and productivity expectations; able to meet the 35-hour guarantee
Education
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in adult dysphagia evaluation and treatment
- Strong assessment and differential diagnosis abilities for speech, language, and cognition
- Familiarity with common post-acute rehab conditions and interdisciplinary care
- Excellent communication and patient/caregiver education skills
- Time management and documentation accuracy under productivity expectations
