Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the daily operations of the unit to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care
• Coordinate staffing, assignments, and workflow so care runs smoothly and safely
• Oversee patient care delivery and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to optimize outcomes
• Coach, mentor, and develop staff to build a resilient and engaged team
• Ensure compliance with facility policies, regulatory standards, and quality initiatives
• Maintain accurate clinical and administrative documentation and support performance metrics
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and clinical teams to champion excellent patient experiences

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Maine (or compact RN license where applicable)
• Current BLS certification; ACLS or other specialty certifications a plus
• Experience in unit management, charge nurse, or clinical leadership roles
• Strong clinical background with proven patient care and team coordination skills
• Excellent communication, critical thinking, and conflict resolution abilities
• Ability to pass facility onboarding and credentialing for travel assignments

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid clinical assessment and patient safety practices
• Unit leadership, staffing coordination, and resource management
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation standards
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and quality improvement processes
• Strong interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration and patient-family communication
• Prior experience managing workflows, scheduling, and unit-level escalation
